Obama three for three in debates
Having just watched the third and last presidential debate as well as the one VP joke a thon it seems to me that Obama is three for three in the debates if reason, strategy and plans are the litmus of success.
Watching the insta pundits after this debate it seemed like the chant of “McCain had his best debate” is an empty statement if you feel like so many others that he barely even showed up at the others. So, if in fact he was “better” in this one i would say to him “Well welcome to the party” you are supposed to sound knowledgeable and articulate in a debate to be President of the United States.
Still though, i think although he was on the offensive his arguments lacked the same credibility and luster that they always do for one simple reason. He has been an accomplice to the Bush disaster for the last 8 years and therefore cannot credibly assert that he will change things. You cant be a leading part of the problem for 8 years and some would say many more and then when it is convenient disown it all, tell people not to look backward and incredulously claim that you are going to change things.
Further his choice of that perma grin abomination Palin should automatically disqualify him, as Palin in the VP role is flat out irresponsible and borderline unpatriotic.
Of course this debate today was in the shadow of one the biggest losses in stock market history but we have become so desensitized to the numbers that it hardly makes the same news as it did even a week ago. But the problems are real and getting more difficult and we need real leadership and a cohesive unified government to reverse this mess.
Through that lens it is almost beyond reason to me to hear how anyone could argue McCain/Palin could be a better choice then Obama/Biden.
This is no longer about policy or particular positions it is about leadership, vision and credibility.
