McCain making gains based on what

New polls are suggesting that McCain Palin are making gains on the back of Joe the Plumber as suggested here in this blog last week.  No doubt this is a measure of some racism in our country but mostly a sad indicator of the ignorance our country faces with voters who are woefully misinformed on issues that they reliable misunderstand and vote against their own best interest.

One could be forgiven for asking how could McCain Palin be competing on any level?  If you count the 30 million hard core conservatives who would vote for this ticket no matter what they do or dont say who are the 10 – 15 million people who are not labeled as conservative that might vote for this ticket to nowhere? These are the one that should know better.  The ones that could put McCain in office. So is it racism, lack of accurate affiliation, ignorance of issues or worst of all an indifference based on incomplete and lazy gathering of knowledge.

McCain has run a campaign unrivaled in modern history for its absolute lack of substance and appalling twists of truth.  Here we have a platform based on nothing but misdirection, character assaults and a complete reliance on fomenting “fear” masked as “lack of experience” all coming from the doughy, filthy rich, establishment, old white guy who is the complete embodiment of everything he rails against.

What a sad, hollow and shameful joke.  McCain is a poor mans version of what he used to be.  Replaced by a central casting call for a tired, cranky old man who changes his positions faster then Rush Limbaugh can say “terrorist” and is quick to point but never to reflect or consider.  Truly, this campaign and last ditch effort by the Replublican establsihemnt to win on Joe the Plumber and misconstruing the concept of taxes, socialism and fear is a last gasp for continued control of America. A control that thus far has driven us clearly and squarely into the jaws of poverty, debt and war.  This election might define our countries path for the next 50 years.

Path One Obama – Unity, Respect for intelligence, Thoughtfulness, Healthcare, Diplomacy, Separation of Church and State, Progressive society, Less war, higher taxes for the well to do to help pay for everything

Path Two McCain – Continued debt, crumbling infrastructure, War, Unemployment, Conservatism, Fanaticism, lower taxes overall and for the rich without any plan on how to pay for anything

It seems to me that the cities by and large choose path one and the rural areas choose path two which begs the question can an urban society coexist with a rural society the way our country is currently polarized. And if so, is it at the expense of a cohesive and complimentary population that pull in the same direction?

If you feel like you are going crazy when McCain calls Obama a socialist while the republican president in office has nationalized our banks, dont worry, the hypocrisy is thick.

Same for “taxing”, “preconditions”, “foreign policy” and an almost endless list.  It has gotten to the point that you can almost be sure that if the McCain camp says something negative about Obama that McCain is himself guilty of doing the same thing worse, more often or more brazenly.

Regarding Palin, well, words continue to escape me here on how to describe this pathetic moment in American History.

So America, in the end it is really up to the average “Joe” meaning up to us, the average person to actually understand the facts, the history, the connections and vote our best interests so that we can take back our country. This might be our last opportunity to do so before we really impoverish our country.
